Technical Breakfasts: Meetings start at 7:00 am for breakfast, 7:30 am presentation, 8:15 am Q&A. Generally the meetings end by 8:45 am. The venue is usually the speaker's own location or another host location as arranged by the committee. Host locations provide roomspace, continental breakfast and a/v materials as needed. DATA PROCESSING SIG Karl Seibert kseibert@corelab.com This special interest group provides a forum for the discussion of seismic data processing topics such as seismic velocity, AVO, migration, etc. Three or more experts normally speak to the group and respond to questions at a late afternoon meeting. The meeting format is expanded to a half day for the Mini-Geo. Here contractors can show their wares as poster paper with each having equal space. POTENTIAL FIELDS GROUP SIG Afif Saad AfifHSaad@netscape.net and Bob Van Nieuwenhuise Bob.VanNieuwenhuise@pgs.com The objective of the Potential Fields Group is to provide a medium for education, communication and idea exchange for the Potential Field Group members along with any interested parties in the GSH. We create this medium by selecting speakers who have case history studies of interest or have developed new and innovatiove techniques in either data acquisition, processing or interpretation. Meetings are generally at HESS, 5430 Westheimer monthly from September to June. Social hour at 5:30 pm, Dinner at 6:30 pm and presentations at 7:30 pm. Sponsorship Venues: The GSH depends upon the generous donations from industry sponsors for many of its events and meetings. Opportunities include hosting the various breakfasts, dinners and sporting events or through corporate membership in the GSH. Employment Referrals: The GSH Employment Referral committee serves as a liaison between employers and potential employees in the geophysical industry. Free to both employers and employees - the only restriction for potential employees is that they be members in good standing in the GSH. The service acts as a clearing house where employers can request individuals with specific skills and receive a confidential service in the form of resumes of all qualified personnel.
